This is a specially designed course intended to focus on special research topics in Geotechnical and Earthquake Engineering. Specific topics will depend on students' interests and capabilities. Generally the course will focus on:
1. Advanced field and laboratory testing for soil behavior, dynamic properties, or unsaturated characteristics.
2. Applying data from testing (1) to advanced analysis and design software
3. Adapting (technology transfer) research work to a more applied level for use by practitioners.
4. Publishing and producing media for instruction and research presentations.
